Blue Chip Lubricants is an independent leading manufacturer and distributor of a wide variety of high quality lubricants and greases nationally. When the company was established nearly 30 years ago it was with the intent of producing high-quality lubricant products to, quite literally, keep the cogs of South Africa’s machines turning. Having perfected the art of its business in both product and service delivery it was decided to expand the national footprint of the company and franchising was elected as the means to achieve this goal.

Blue Chip Lubricants is one of the founding members of ILBA, the Independent Lubricants Blenders Association of SA. Blue Chip Lubricants products are made from 100% virgin oils and meet international industry standards. Blue Chip Lubricants supplies a wide variety of quality lubricants and greases to the mining, automotive, engineering, agricultural and industrial sectors. The Blue Chip Lubricants manufacturing, bottling, labeling and research lab testing facility is located at 7 Industrial Road, Kya Sands, Johannesburg.

The Blue Chip Lubricants franchise opportunity provides access to a complete business system, covering all aspects of establishing and running a Blue Chip Lubricants outlet. Blue Chip Lubricant franchisees sell and market lubricants of the same standard as major lubricant blenders. Blue Chip Lubricants have reconfirmed their position as a market leader by developing an environmentally friendly, biodegradable lubricant product range produced from a renewable resource. This product range, called PURE Lubricants, is a competitively priced, quality lubricant range that provides protection for both equipment and the environment. In addition to their range of complex inorganic clay based, lithium, calcium, semi- fluid and biodegradable greases, Blue Chip Lubricants custom make greases for own specific application.

The Blue Chip Lubricants oil blending facility blends a wide range of motor, gearbox, industrial gear, hydraulic, turbine and 2-stroke engine oils as well as cutting fluids, ATF and cleaning fluids. With all products manufactured and blended locally, to specification, product availability and delivery is a key brand strength.
The mining, industrial, automotive, forestry, marine, plant hire and public sectors form the base of the Blue Chip Lubricant target market.

The franchise owner will take up the role of sales representative and will require the support of an administrator to manage the office and operational functions as well as a driver.

Blue Chip Lubricants is committed to the success of their franchisees. The support provided by the Blue Chip Lubricants’ head office, covers such aspects as site selection, hiring of staff, product, operational systems, business administration, customer services, selling techniques and general business and financial management training.

The training provided is extensive and sufficiently comprehensive to ensure that a new franchisee is familiar with every aspect of the business. All training material will also be accessible in the operations manual. In the lubricant industry, technology is constantly being updated and revised. Franchisees will receive training on all new products/services and technologies to keep them up to date in the market place.

The franchisor provides assistance with the initial launch of the business and consequent marketing activities. While the franchisor does not actively assist in procuring customers, sales enquiries received by the head office are passed onto franchisees.
