Core Catering Supplies
Yesterday, today and tomorrow
The hospitality industry is a continually growing segment of the South African economy and Core Catering Supplies was established with the primary objective of supplying this rapidly growing industry with glassware, cutlery, crockery, kitchenware and uniforms. Large stock holdings, fast service and highly competitive pricing has established Core Catering Supplies as a preferred supplier within the hospitality industry.

Inspired by 15 years of successful growth, Core Catering Supplies decided to share their business model with other aspiring entrepreneurs and so Core Franchising was established. In addition to expanding their footprint, franchising has also contributed to the group’s increased buying power and the resultant lowering pricing also benefits the end-user. Looking to the future it is their ambition to establish a branch in every viable city and town in South Africa as well as establishing a strong presence in our neighbouring countries, securing their position as the preferred supplier to the hospitality industry across Southern Africa.
The concept under the spotlight
Core Catering offers entrepreneurs an exciting opportunity to become part of a franchise servicing the hotel, restaurant and corporate sectors. Offering 15 years of experience, well-defined and accessible customers, the benefits of bulk buying and exclusive international brands, Core provides a low risk business model to entrepreneurs who understand the concept of value.

Product lines include a range of local and international glassware, crockery, cutlery, kitchen smalls, kitchen equipment, bar accessories and uniforms.
End-user customers range from hotels, bars and restaurants to government departments, corporate clients and private individuals, in essence anyone who requires the essential aspects of kitchen, canteen and tableware.

Finding appropriate premises is key to a successful operation and franchised stores are strategically located in close proximity to a strong hospitality market. When searching for suitable premises, particular consideration must be given to the demographic of the surrounding trade and the potential for growth. Stores typically range in size from 200 to 400sqm.

Depending on the size of the outlet, a franchisee will typically need to employ between four and ten staff members.
Consider your support
The franchisor’s pro-active involvement in the success of each outlet enables franchisees to deliver the first-class service Core Catering is known for.

Franchisees and their staff attend induction training at the head office training facility in Cape Town or Johannesburg.

Core Catering Supplies employs the power of bulk buying to negotiate the best possible prices, thereby securing a competitive edge for their franchisees in the marketplace. Core Catering has further extended their competitive advantage by successfully securing the exclusive distribution right for various products including Libbey Glass, the world’s largest glass manufacturer.

Do you fit the profile?
The Core Catering Supplies franchise model promotes owner-operator businesses and the purchase of a franchise solely as an investment is discouraged. A background and experience in the hospitality industry will be appropriate and as with all hospitality industry functions, a service-oriented attitude is important.
