Founder Brent Topat and CEO Sean Stegmann are both actively involved in the running of the business, with Brent focusing primarily on importing and sourcing stock and negotiating best-price deals.

In addition to second-hand items, Cash Crusaders retails a range of directly imported new goods, ranging from electronic goods and DJ equipment to musical instruments, DIY tools, and small and large household appliances that are branded under their own house brands. Cash Crusaders is also an authorised stockist and accredited service centre for Doogee smartphones. As a registered credit provider, Cash Crusaders offers customers access to secured loans and a 3-month lay-by option.
While their extensive range of products and services allows trade across a diverse customer base, customers typically fall in the LSM 6 to 10 category.

An ideal location requires a steady flow of foot traffic and the proximity of anchor tenants, such as national supermarket chains, is a significant consideration during site selection.

In a typical outlet a hands-on owner will require the assistance of seven staff.

In addition to their head office in Cape Town, the franchisor has also established regional offices in Johannesburg, Durban and Port Elizabeth. Experienced personnel provide franchisees with operational support and direct them on how they may improve their store performance.

Initial franchisee training is conducted in-store over a six to 8-week period, affording franchisees the opportunity to become intimately acquainted with the business model and all aspects related to the day-to-day running of a store. Ongoing training ensures that superior service levels are maintained.
